After a terrible Asia Cup campaign, the Indian team finally had something to be happy about after they won the three-match series against Australia by 2-1 after securing a six-wicket win in the third game on Sunday. When India was chasing 187, skipper Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul were both dismissed early but Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli saved the team and chased down the total of 187.

When the winning runs were scored, Kohli and Rohit were watching the match sitting on the staircase and started celebrating while hugging each other at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.  Rohit had also lauded Virat when he was walking back to the pavilion after scoring a brilliant half-century.  There were talks about a rift going on between Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and former captain Virat Kohli but they had a sweet moment where both were seen hugging each other. This heartwarming gesture clearly was the statement by them that they have a cordial relationship.

Chasing the target of 187 runs for the series win, India were off to a poor start as the team lost the wickets of both their openers till the score of 30 runs. However, after this, Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli put on a century partnership of 104 runs in 62 balls for the third wicket to bring the team closer to victory.

After Suryakumar's dismissal, India needed 53 runs in the last six overs to win. Kohli along with Pandya finished the game for their team. Also, with this victory, the Indian team has won 10 consecutive series on its soil. India also broke Pakistan's record for most T20I wins in a calendar year. After winning over the Aussies in the 3rd T20I, India has won the most T20Is in a calendar year (22).
