Rishabh Pant’s inclusion in the squad over Dinesh Karthik for the ODI series against Australia was a major move from the Indian selectors. It was cited that the youngster needs to be given enough chances to prove his mettle before the final-15 for the upcoming World Cup could be locked. However, the 21-year-old is yet to get a chance to exhibit his hard-hitting skills as he was benched for the first two games that India won in an amazing fashion.

Ahead of the third ODI in Ranchi on Friday, Pant was spotted going through an intense net session. The Delhi boy looked in a good form as he hit the ball hard and played some big shots.

After outplaying the Aussies in the previous two encounters, the Indians will definitely be looking forward to capturing the series in Ranchi. And the amount of confidence Pant has shown in the nets, it gives rise to speculation that he may find a spot in the playing on Saturday.

All-rounder Vijay Shankar had already proved why he makes an option to be considered for the World Cup. However, the debate still surrounds that who would make the cut in the Indian team for the mega event.
