Following up his phenomenal double ton in first Test at Vizag, Mayank Agarwal attained another superb century in 2nd Test at Pune to put team India in a commanding position.
After end of day’s play, Mayank and Pujara got together for a brief chat. Pujara, with a mic in his hand, asked Mayank to reveal 'secret' behind his remarkable form. Without talking about batting technique details, training and drills, Agarwal responded with a simple answer by saying that he has been consuming South Indian food.
"Simple, South Indian idlis - 2 of them with some coconut chutney and sambhar", he replied.
During a presser, Agarwal lauded Kohli for his double ton and his fifth wicket stand with Ravindra Jadeja that had put team India in the driver's seat on Day 2.
"It's not just the amount of runs, but the pace in which they have come that made a huge difference. It has given the team an extra session and a half which becomes very crucial," Mayank said in a press conference after the day's play.
"It was almost a run-a-ball 225-run stand, which is fabulous. If you are looking to win games, you want to have the time to pick up 20 wickets," Mayank said.
Terming Kohli's knock as 'top class', Mayank said, "It's no joke and the way he is batting is tremendous. The positivity and intent he gets is fabulous."
