One of the greatest batsmen of this generation, Australia's Steve Smith's magical Ashes series  came to an end after paceman Stuart Broad bowled a beauty to get him out on just 23. Smith's knock at the Oval is the first time he was dismissed before reaching a half-century in the Ashes 2019.

Smith has amassed 774 runs in seven innings at an average of 110.57, including three tons and three fifties an a highest score of 211. With Smith gone, Australia were 85-4, leaving England just six wickets to win at The Oval and draw the series 2-2.

English fans, who had booed and jeered Smith throughout the Ashes, rose to a standing ovation, after Smith (23) was trapped by Broad in the second innings of the final Ashes Test.

Here's the Video...

Smith, single-handedly destroyed England in the fourth Ashes Test to help Australia retain the Ashes urn. Despite his top form in the ongoing Ashes, the 30-year-old received harsh treatment from the English crowd throughout the tournament.

Smith was last year handed a one-year suspension by Cricket for his involvement in the Sandpaper Gate fiasco, which also saw Cameron Bancroft and David Warner getting banned for nine months and one year, respectively.

The star Aussie batsman recently took over the No. 1 ranking from Virat Kohli and has been applauded across the cricket fraternity for his heroics in the Ashes series.
