IND-W vs ENG-W: India are taking on England in a one-off Test match at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. While India won the toss and elected to bat first, they had a great day on the field riding on half-centuries from Satheesh Shubha, Jemimah Rodrigues, Yastika Bhatia and Deepti Sharma. Meanwhile, captain Harmanpreet Kaur also looked set to cross the landmark before she got out in a bizarre manner.

The Indian captain was trying to complete a run when her bat got stuck at the keeper's end and the ball disturbed the wickets before she could put it inside the crease. Danni Wyatt was the fielder whose direct-hit throw caught Harmanpreet outside her crease. That meant an unfortunate end to Harmanpreet's dismissal. The video of Harmanpreet Kaur's wicket has gone viral on social media.

IND-W vs ENG-W: Harmanpreet Kaur Not New To Such Form Of Dismissal

It is pertinent to note that Harmanpreet Kaur has previously too gotten out in such a way. However, she would hope that while the earlier opportunity cost the team, this time around, they would still manage to win the match. India ended Day 1 of the Test in a dominant position.

Riding on the solid batting efforts of India's top and middle-order, the team has already crossed 400 in 89.1 overs. Soon after crossing the landmark, even though the Women In Blue lost a wicket, the presence of a set Yastika Bhatia meant they did not panic and reached 410/7 At Stumps.

For England, Lauren Bell was the pick of the bowlers and had figures of 2/64 by the end of the day's play. Kate Cross, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Charlie Dean and Sophie Ecclestone picked a wicket each.
