India's Tour of Sri Lanka: Sri Lanka cricket have, on Thursday, July 11, announced that star all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has officially resigned as the skipper of the nation in T20I's. This decision comes in merely two weeks before Sri Lanka's white-ball series with India, as the T20 World Cup 2024 champions will be travelling to the island nation to dawn a new era.

Gautam Gambhir is now India's new head coach and the T20I squad will also see a start of a new chapter, as Hardik Pandya will lead the side in the post 'Ro-Ko' Era (as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have announced their retirement from the T20I format).

Sri Lanka will themselves see a new era, as the side are coming off a horrendous T20 World Cup campaign and are in search of a new skipper.
