New Delhi:  Test skipper Virat Kohli made an emotional appeal to the people of Delhi in an attempt to bring issues to light on the pollution crisis that the national capital is facing at the moment. Kohli posted a video on his twitter account in which he said, “Schools are getting close, sporting events are getting cancelled and it’s a situation that is only getting worse by the day.”



In a series of tweets, the 28-year-old appealed the people in the capital to keep the environment clean and green.





 



 





 



Delhi is facing huge pollution crisis after Diwali, affecting the ordinary life. Many warning have been issued to people, especially those with respiratory problems, who are more vulnerable to serious illness. The Deteriorating air quality has forced the Delhi Government to shut down schools till the situation comes under normal.



The dense smog also affected sporting events as the Ranji Trophy games between Bengal and Gujarat and Haryana anad Tripura were canceled which were scheduled to take place at Feroz Shah Kotla and Karnail Singh stadium respectively.
