A rather hilarious incident happened during the 2nd ODI between Australia Women and South Africa Women at the North Sydney Oval on Wednesday. In a contest which South Africa ended up winning by 84 runs to level the three-match series 1-1, on-field umpire made a hilarious blunder that thankfully did not lead to any consequences as she quickly realised her mistake and changed her signal.

It all unfolded during an Ashleigh Gardner over against Sune Luus. While ground umpire Claire Polosak initially signalled it not out and Australia opted for the DRS, third umpire Sue Redfern instructed Claire to stay with her original decision of not out. However, instead of staying with her original decision, she ended up signalling it out before realising her mistake.

"Pitching outside off, impact outside. Back to Claire on field, please. Stay with not out. Stand by. Signal not out now," the TV umpire can be clearly head saying after which came the out signal out from Claire which she soon overturned but not before the camera had captured the hilarious incident.

While South Africa were 0-1 down in the series, Marizanne Kapp's performance with the bat paved the way for their victory in the second ODI. Kapp scored 75 off 87 as the Proteas scored 229/6 in rain-curtailed 45 overs. Anneke Bosch amassed 44 off 46 and Chloe Tryon chipped in with 37* off 36 during South Africa's innings.

In the run-chase, the hosts could only muster 149 in 29.3 overs. Kim Garth ended up top-scoring for Australia with an unbeaten 42 off 48 balls. After her performance with the bat, Kapp was incredible with the ball as well, producing figures of 3/12 in her 5 overs. She was ajudged the Player Of the Match for her all-round performance.
