T20 World Cup 2024: As the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season 2024 nears its final phase, fans have another T20 cricket festival to get excited for as the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is slated to take place from June 2 in the United States of America and the West Indies. India have announced their 15-man squad for the marquee event, which will be led by veteran Rohit Sharma with Hardik Pandya as his deputy.
Yuzvendra Chahal makes a comeback to the Indian T20I squad as selectors aim for a spin-dominated bowling strategy. Chahal’s last T20I for India was against West Indies back in August 2023. With just three genuine pacers including Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, and Mohammed Siraj, the team is relying on four spin alternatives: Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja. In addition to vice-captain Hardik, the team includes all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube.
The surprising element for many was Rinku Singh's absence from the 15-man squad, instead finding a place among the reserves, along with opening batter Shubman Gill, left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed and fast bowler Avesh Khan.
Ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, here's a look at India’s complete squad, their match schedule, venues and the match timings:
