IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) posted a video on their official Twitter handle, featuring former India skipper MS Dhoni. In normal circumstances, the legendary wicket-keeper batsman would have been leading CSK in the 2020 edition of the cash-rich tournament. However, BCCI decided to postpone the league indefinitely due to the COVID-19 outbreak across the world.

In the video, 'Thala' Dhoni is greeted with loud cheers from his fans who were patiently waiting outside to just get a glimpse of their favourite 'Mahi'.

CSK's tweet read: "The sweet king's here, simply rock on! #Thala #MSDhoni."

In an interview, CSK bowling coach Lakshmipathy Balaji revealed that India's ageing cricketing hero - MS Dhoni - looked 'very intense' during CSK's training camp even though he had not been part of any form of competitive cricket since India's heartbreaking exit from the 2019 World Cup.

"Dhoni was looking good, fit. He focused on training just like he always does and was as normal as he has always been. He trained like the way he did last year or 2 years ago. There is nothing that changes when it comes to his preparation. His routine, his mindset, everything is the same," Balaji told indiatoday.in.

"Dhoni was focussed on getting ready for the IPL. He is that kind of a person who always takes it one moment at a time."

During an Instagram live session with Indian opener Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina revealed that Dhoni was in the right frame of mind during CSKs' training camp. "I was there with Mahi Bhai in CSK's training camp. He was in good touch with the bat and in the right frame of mind. He is also physically fit.

So only he (Dhoni) can tell what will be his next step," said Raina. "I think he still has a lot of cricket left in him and was batting really well. Now only he can plan about his future as there is a lot of speculation going on right now," he added.
