India's preferred number 4 in the comeptition took a catch for the ages which helped India see the back of David Miller in the first ball of the last over that eventually helped the Men in Blue win the match and end their world title drought of 11 years.
However, soon after the final, India's trophy-lifting captain Rohit Sharma announced that the final was his last T20I of his career. With India set to tour Sri Lanka next it was earlier being expected that Hardik Pandya, who was Rohit's deputy in USA and the West Indies, would lead the team in T20Is.

However, several media reports are now claiming that Suryakumar Yadav could now be the captain. And now the Mumbai Indians (MI) star has shared an Instagram story that has further led fans to speculate whether he has already been informed that he would be the captain.
