Chennai: In a recent controversy, CSK batsman Suresh Raina is being called out for saying that he is "also a Brahmin" on Live commentary during a Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) match on Tuesday. Raina was invited for commentary during a TNPL season 5 match between Lyca Kovai Kings and Salem Spartans.
Suresh Raina is a popular face in the state of Tamil Nadu and especially in Chennai due to his long association with the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Thus, while Raina was on commentary, he was asked about he embraced the Chennai culture so well, to which the star batsman replied by saying, “I think, I am also Brahmin. I have been playing since 2004 in Chennai, I love the culture and I love my teammates. I have played with Badri (Subramaniam Badrinath), Bala Bhai (L Balaji. I think you need to learn something good from there. We have a good administration, we have the license to explore ourselves. I’m lucky to be part of CSK. Hopefully, we will play more matches there.”
