On Tuesday, Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) cricket operation chairman, Akram Khan, responding to star batsman Shakib Al Hasan's application for a NOC to take part in the upcoming UAE T20x - a franchise-based T20 event, noted that Shakib will be given a NOC- provided there is no medical issue. The 31-year-old is undergoing a rehabilitation program for his injured finger.

'There will be a medical report regarding Shakib. If there is no problem in it, and it seems to be positive, we will give him the NOC,' BCB cricket operations chairman Akram Khan told Cricbuzz.

'Probably he cannot have an operation in one year time, while at present there is no pain [in his finger] If he is medically fit, he can play [UAE T20x],' he noted.

Earlier there were speculations that Shakib was likely to be denied NOC as far as his participation in UAE was concerned as the board was reportedly not interested to take any risk with him, considering the status of his injury.

Shakib al Hasan, currently suffering from an injury, is looking forward to make a comeback to international cricket as soon as possible. The unbearable pain and the swelling in his finger during the Asia Cup 2018 forced him to withdraw from the tournament.
