A special award ceremony was held in the Indian team's dressing room. A young Indian fan was invited as a special guest to present the medal to Mohammed Siraj personally.

Siraj graciously accepted the award, sharing a warm hug with the child and exchanging smiles.

In IND vs IRE T20 World Cup 2024 match, 30-year-old Siraj picked one wicket for 13 runs in the three overs he bowled. In the 16th over of Irelands' innings, Siraj's remarkable fielding effort ended well-set Gareth Delany's stay at the crease.

"In T20 cricket one of the key factors is game awareness as every ball is an opportunity. A great example of today was Axar Patels' caught and bowled and Virat Kohli's intensity backing up showing what we spoke in the morning," India fielding coach T Dilip said in a video posted by BCCI on X (formerly Twitter).

In the match, India won the toss and opted to field first, inviting Ireland to bat. India's early breakthroughs put pressure on the Irish batsmen, with the team struggling at 50/8. However, a spirited fightback pushed Ireland's total to 96 runs in 16 overs.

Chasing 97 for the win, Rohit Sharma fifty (52 in 37 balls) and Rishabh Pant's quick innings (36* in 26 balls) helped the Men in Blue register an eight-wicket win.
