Shubman Gill contributed 53 runs, while captain Rohit Sharma and wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul added 48 and 34 runs, respectively.


The win over Bangladesh maintains India's flawless record in ODI World Cup 2023 and positions them strongly for a spot in the semifinals. They are comfortably placed on the second spot only after the Black Caps- New Zealand. They are the only two unbeaten teams in this edition of the ODI World Cup.


Rohit sharma provided an excellent start in the run chase, and after his departure, Kohli took over and reached his 48th ODI century. Rahul, who used smart tactics to help Kohli reach his century, played a crucial role in this accomplishment.


Following Kohli's match-winning six in the 42nd over, Rohit embraced Kohli and Rahul, creating a heartwarming moment. This touching scene quickly went viral on social media and was even shared by the ICC's official Instagram handle.


The day after India's victory over Bangladesh, captain Rohit himself took to Instagram to share some images from the match. The first photo in his post depicted the warm embrace with Kohli and Rahul, and Rohit's caption simply read, "Together," accompanied by an Indian flag emoji.

Rohit, who narrowly missed a well-deserved half-century against Bangladesh, currently stands as the leading run-scorer in the ODI World Cup 2023 with a total of 265 runs in four matches. Virat Kohli follows closely in the second position with 259 runs.


India’s next assignment in this tournament will come against New Zealand, which could be the most challenging one for the Men In Blue. The match will take place at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on Sunday, October 22.
