Rohit Sharma is one of the greatest white ball batters India has ever produced. From hitting enormous sixes to playing sensible innings, he does it all for the Indian team. Despite being the best batter, there was one bowler who ensured Rohit’s tough time at the crease. Rohit said he had a difficult time facing former South Africa pacer Dale Steyn.
"If a bowler who has ever challenged me and I enjoyed playing against him, then I'll have to say Dale Steyn. He is a class player, he has all the skills and I think this is the reason he doesn't miss a bounce and can swing so fast and I think there are very less people who could swing 140+ and I think he was the one who could do it consistently," Rohit told during an interaction with Vimal Kumar on his YouTube channel.
In the recently passed ODI series against Australia, Rohit had a brilliant stint. In the third ODI specially, Rohit dominated the Australian bowlers in Rajkot on Wednesday. He ended up scoring 81 runs off 57 balls with the help of 5 fours and 6 sixes.
Senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were rested for the first two ODIs against Australia before making their return for the final game. The upcoming World Cup 2023 is slated to take place in India, starting from October 5. The upcoming World Cup will be Rohit’s third World Cup and he will look to acquire the trophy that is missing from his cabinet.
The Indian team will start their World Cup campaign by playing against Australia in Chennai on 8 October. Ahead of their first game, the Men in Blue will also take part in two warm-up matches against England (30 September) and the Netherlands (3 October).
