Indian wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant has had a rough past 12 months as he met a horrific car accident on December 30, 2022, in Roorkee, Uttarakhand. Such was the impact of that accident that it left Pant with no choice but to be on rehab and rest mode for the entire calendar year. No only did he miss his Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 for his side Delhi Capitals, but he also missed the World Test Championship (WTC) Final and eventually, the ODI World Cup at home.
Pant endured injuries to his head, back, and feet, and was hence, required to abide by the procedures needed for proper rehabilitation. It took Pant almost 2-3 weeks to issue an official statement in concern with the accident he met. He was grateful for the indefinite amount of care, support he received from the fans and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the concerned government authorities.
Resurgent Rishabh for 2024
The left-handed batsman has constantly been active on his social media platforms, giving an update to his fans with pictures and videos of him in his rehab and therapy sessions, training sessions, recovery sessions, and has hence, laid down a statement that 2024 will be the resurgence of Rishabh Pant from misery. Not only has the swashbuckling batter endured the physical stress in abundance, but has recently been a victim to mental drainage as well as he was duped under the fraudalent scheme of a business opportunity. This happened when Pant was dragged in for a business model presented to him by Mrinank Singh and costed him Rs 1.63 crore. Inspite of several efforts, Rishabh couldn't get his return and hence filed a case against him and after all the run-away attempts of Mr Singh, Delhi Police finally caught hold off him via immigration authorities at the Delhi Airport.
2024 promises to be a resurgent year for Pant as his mental and physical strength and sheer resilience is something to be talked about and the ability to bounce back is astonishing.
