On day three of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group 'B' match between Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh, rain played spoilsport and after several inspections the play had to be called off at 3:45 PM on Saturday without a ball being balled. Tamil Nadu was zero for no loss in two overs at stumps on Friday in reply to Madhya Pradesh's first innings score of 393, built on Ranjit Patidar's brilliant 196.

Madhya Pradesh, which once looked to put a huge total against Tamil Nadu was restricted by the spinner duo of R Ashwin and fast bowler M Mohammed, scalped four wickets each to restrict MP.

Mohammed's hat-trick included the wickets of Yash Dubey, Patidar and Mihir Hirwani.
