New Delhi: Baroda was involved in a runathon in their last Ranji Trophy match against Punjab, but today in Raipur, they collapsed sensationally to end up losing 9 wickets for 22 runs. Krishnamoorthy Vignesh and Aswin Crist shared nine wickets between them as Tamil Nadu bundled out Baroda for 93.

Baroda was cruising at 71/1, with two batsmen, Dhiren Msitry and Vishnu Solanki at the crease. The collapse started when Vignesh got the wicket of Mistry.

In came Baroda captain Deepak Hooda, fresh from a 293 against Punjab. However, the talented middle order batsman got run out for duck. It turned out to be a body blow to the otherwise good Baroda batting line up. Crist then struck back to back blows, removing the experienced Yusuf Pathan and Pinal Shah. Baroda could not recover from that and folded for 93, losing their last 9 wickets for 22 runs.

Only three Baroda batsmen reached double figures in a dismal batting performance.

Krisnamoorthy Vignesh ended with figures of 5/23, ably supported by Aswin Crist, who took 4 wickets for 39 runs.

By the end of day's play, Tamil Nadu progressed to 79 for 1 in 31 overs, trailing by only 14 runs with nine wickets in hand.
