New Zealand vs Australia 1st T20I was almost a one-sided affair. NZ won by 54 runs in the 1st T20 at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch. After faltering in the early part of the innings New Zealand posed a big total of 184-5. New Zealand lost Guptill, Seifert and Williamson for 0,1 and 12 respectively. Then there were good partnership between Conway and Neesham that took the NZ score to 184. Australia needed 185 runs to win. None of the star Aussie batsmen performed as they were expected to. With 45 runs, Mitchell Marsh was the highest scorer. His performance wasn’t enough as Australia only managed to score 131 runs.

Cricketer turned coach – Wasim Jaffer who is quite active on social media had something to point out looking at the Australian side. He tweeted a meme and wrote: “#NZvAUS or #NZvRCB?”

He meant to point out at the number of RCB players in the Aussie side. There were as many as five current RCB players in the Australia’s T20 team. Josh Philippe, Glenn Maxwell, Daniel Sams, , Kane Richardson, Adam Zampa were the RCB players in the Australian side. Apart from them, Aron Finch was another player who had represented RCB previously.

Jaffer always tries to find a funny side to things. Indian eyes were on many players but a lot of them failed to impress the fans. Kyle Jamieson who earned 15 crore rupees at the IPL Auction 2021 had the attention of Indian fans. He picked up one wicket for 32 runs and failed to impress a lot of people. NZ will play Australia next on 25 February 2021 in the 2nd T20I.
