Mukesh Kumar made a unique record as soon as he was named in India's playing XI for the 1st T20I against West Indies at the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba in Trinidad. The Bengal pacer became just the second Indian cricketer to make his international debut in each of the three formats- T20I, ODI and Test matches on the same tour. The first such individual was left-arm pacer T Natrajan. Mukesh wasn't the only Indian debutant in the fixture on Thursday (August 3) as Tilkar Varma also played his maiden T20 International against the Men From the Caribbean.

Overall, Mukesh has impressive numbers in domestic cricket circuit. In 40 first-class matches, the right-arm seamer has a total of 151 wickets to his credit. His best figures in an innings are 6/40 while best performance in a match is 8/84. The 29-year-old has picked those wickets at an average of 21.62 and an economy of under 3. His List A stats aren't too bad either with the Gopalganj-born player having played 27 matches for 30 wickets at an average of 34.76 and an economy of 5.07. In addition, he has the experience of having played a total of 34 T20s. In these, he has 32 scalps against his name at an average of 29.43  and an economy of 8.10.

Although it was a memorable occasion for Mukesh and Tilak personally but they did not get off to a winning start as India succumbed to a 4-run loss to West Indies in the T20I series opener. West Indies posted 149/6 but India only managed 145/9 in their 20 overs. Mukesh wasn't amongst the wickets either, conceding 24 runs in his 3 overs. Varma though had a decent outing, picking up a stunning catch while also top-scoring for the team with 39 off 22 in their run-chase.

The two teams will now lock horns in the second T20I on August 6 (Sunday).
