India Cricketer Rishabh Pant met with a serious accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway on Friday. The Delhi Capitals captain rammed his car into the divider as he dozed off while sleeping. The impact of collision was such that his Mercedes caught fire immediately. However, the cricketer was fortunate enough to have escaped from the window of his car.


The 25-year-old is currently under medical supervision at a private hospital in Dehradun. A detail medial bulletin on his condition is awaited but doctors have confirmed that his condition is stable.

Pant wanted to surprise mother for New Year

Pant was returning home to surprise mother for New Year The wicketkeeper-batter was part of the India squad for the Bangladesh Tests after the conclusion of which, Pant was spotted with MS Dhoni and his wife Sakshi along with others in Dubai presumably for Christmas celebrations.

Pant had then returned to Delhi and was travelling by road to surprise his mother for New Year en-route which he met this accident. Doctors have confirmed that his condition is stable but has seriously injured himself. The stumper is set to undergo a plastic surgery for burn injuries that he sustained on his back and an injury over right eye on forehand. ABP Reporter has, meanwhile, also confirmed that DCA and BCCI are taking over treatment protocols.

"Cricketer Rishabh Pant is under the observation of Orthopedics & plastic surgeons. His condition is stable. His detailed medical bulletin will be released once he's examined. Thereafter, we'll take the next steps," ANI UP/Uttarakhand quoted Dr Ashish Yagnik from Max Hospital, Dehradun as saying.
