Cricket fans across the world were left in a state of shock after a hoax claiming Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi's demise surfaced on social media. The reports stated that the former skipper has passed away suffering a cardiac arrest.

However, a few hours later, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) shared pictures of Nabi training alongside his team at the Kabil Stadium.

Despite this official post, the news did rounds in the digital world while the ACB maintained silence. Finally, the all-rounder himself took to his official account to quash the rumours.

“Alhamdulillah I am all good, a news disseminated by some media outlets about my demise is FAKE. Thank you,” Nabi wrote on his official Twitter handle.

Nabi brought curtains down to his Test career after the one-off Test match against Bangladesh, played at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. He said that he would like to see the emerging young players get chances in the long-format of the sport instead of him

The 34-year-old has featured in only three red-ball matches where he managed to pick eight wickets. He has been an integral part of Afghanistan's rise in world cricket, featuring in 121 one-day internationals and 68 Twenty20 internationals.
