The 28-year-old had announced his retirement from Test cricket last year after which he faced criticism from cricket pundits for his decision. However, it seems that the fast bowler's patience has finally lost all patience. Amir said that he cannot continue playing under the current Pakistan team management. The sensational speedster recently participated in the Lanka Premier League after being dropped from Pakistan's side for the New Zealand series.

Pakistani Journalist Shoaib Jatt has shared a video on social media. In this video, Amir is campaigning for Galle Gladiators in the Lanka Premier League. He also said that he will be playing franchise cricket in near future, but has made up his mind not to play for Pakistan. Amir retired from Test cricket last year citing workload issues.

Former Cricketers Reacts To Mohammad Amir's Shocking Retirement Announcement

Pakistan’s Ramiz Raja and India’s Harsha Bhogle, in their respective tweets, reacted to Amir’s decision of taking an indefinite break from international cricket.

“Mohammad Amir retires. Sad untimely exit of a potential superstar! And a lesson for aspiring youth: Respect your talent and understand your responsibilities. Don’t mistake wealth for respect. Respect is earned by having a strong character and not by worldly glitzy sh*t!” Raja tweeted.

“I hope he is content. In cricketing terms he will be remembered for what might have been,” Bhogle tweeted.

Pakistan's former captain Inzamamul Haq believes Mohammad Amir might regret his decision to take an indefinite break from international cricket.

“I think Amir got too emotional and people close to him should advise that people often regret taking hasty decision during an emotional phase,” Inzamam said on his YouTube channel. “If Amir was not comfortable with the team management or Waqar, he could have talked to Misbah, who is the head of team management at the moment. He could have also approached PCB if he didn’t get a response from Misbah.”

Here's What Mohammad Amir Said On Announcing Sudden Retirement

“Right now I am leaving cricket. I am being mentally tortured. I don’t think, I will be able to handle this kind of torture because I have been tortured a lot from 2010 to 2015,” Amir said while speaking to a Pakistani news channel.

“My personal decision to leave Test cricket was taken in a wrong way. My retirement was attached to my desire of playing T20 leagues. I was wishing to invest everything in white-ball cricket for Pakistan. But every now and then someone or the other person came out with a statement. Our bowling coach came out and said, I ditched them, somebody says workload wasn’t properly handled,” he further added.
