New Delhi: How hard does Kieron Pollard hit the ball? No one can answer it better than Rohit Sharma.
The Mumbai Indians captain got a firsthand experience of Pollard’s brute force when a Pollard on drive (if we can call it that) hit Rohit Sharma, who was standing at the non strikers’ end on the back of his right leg, eluding the protective gears.
The force of the shot was so severe that it knocked Rohit off his feet. He immediately held on to his right leg, grimacing in pain.
Much to the relief of Mumbai Indians camp and Pollard himself, the injury was not too serious and Rohit was back on his feet after a while.
It was Rohit (40*), who hit the winnings runs as Mumbai Indians chased down 177 run target set by Gujarat Lions with 6 wickets to spare to rise to the top of the IPL points table.
