At a time when his rival captain and long-time friend Imran Khan is all set to take over as the Prime Minister of Pakistan, former India World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev has made a comeback into the Indian side at age of 59.

Before you hold your chest in absolute disbelief, let us clear it out. it’s not the Indian cricket team which Kapil will represent. After winning accolades for India in cricket, the former all-rounder will now ply his trade in Golf. He has been included in the Indian Golf team for the 2018 Asia Pacific Seniors.

The 2018 Asia Pacific Senior Amateur Championship will this year be played at the Tom Watson Golf. Club, Miyazaki, Japan, from 17-19 October.

To prepare for the tournament, Kapil will take part in the Louis Philippe (LP) Cup Pro-Am golf tournament on August 4 at Bengaluru's Prestige Golfshire club.

Among others, who have confirmed their participation are former India hockey team captain and goalkeeper Ashish Ballal, noted sports commentator Charu Sharma and former India cricketers Syed Kirmani, Murali Karthik, Ajit Agarkar, Venkatpathy Raju and Sujith Somasundar.

Kapil, a regular on the corporate golf circuit, said: "It is fantastic that a wonderful course like the Prestige is getting to hold an event of this stature and I am very happy for the Louis Philippe Cup to have come this far."
