Kagiso Rabada, the newly crowned world's number 1 bowler, scalped 5 for 37 as South Africa bowled out Bangladesh for 159. The Proteas had won the toss and elected to bat first, posting 575/6 with the help of three maiden first-class hundreds. Post that, it was the Rabada show who only needed 9 overs to send back half the opposition batting, justifying his tag as the world's number 1 bowler in the longest format of the game.

The South African speedster got rid of Shadman Islam, Zakir Hasan, captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and debutant Mahidul Islam Ankon to complete yet another fifer in what has been a stellar career already. Rabada became the fastest to 300 Test wickets milestone in the first Test against Bangladesh, in terms of balls taken to get to the landmark during his nine-wicket haul in the match which took him to the number 1 ranking in ICC Test Rankings for bowlers.
