In what comes as a great news for Indian cricket team fans, premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah is all set to make a blockbuster comeback to international cricket. He is on the road to recovery these days and is working on his fitness at National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. As per a report in News18, Bumrah may return to the field with the three-match T20 International series between India and Ireland in August. IND vs IRE T20 series will kickstart from August 18, 2023, where all three matches will be played in Malahide. Bumrah hasn't played a single match for team India since September last year citing back issues, for which he had undergone a surgery in New Zealand, a few months back.

“Jasprit Bumrah is looking very good for the Ireland series in August this year. It will be a big boost to the Indian cricket team and will also allow Bumrah time in the middle after the long injury lay-off. If everything stays on course, a Bumrah at peak fitness is likely to take field,” an official told News18.
It looks like Bumrah is making recovery at a very fast pace in VVS Laxman-led NCA, under supervision of Nitin Patel, head of the medical department, accompanied by physiotherapist S Rajinikanth, who has worked with IPL franchise Delhi Capitals.
Earlier there were reports that Bumrah might make his India comeback with the 2023 Asia Cup in September but it seems like the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wants an indication on Bumrah's match-fitness by making his play India vs Ireland T20 series and not rush him to major upcoming ICC events like Asia Cup and 2023 ODI World Cup.
