With this five-wicket haul, Jasprit Bumrah achieved a major milestone, becoming only the second Indian fast bowler to take 12 five-wicket hauls in Test cricket. Kapil Dev, the legendary former Indian captain, leads the list with 23 such feats. Bumrah's scalps on day 2 of IND vs AUS 3rd Test in Gabba included Australian stalwarts Steve Smith, Travis Head, Usman Khawaja, Mitchell Marsh, and Nathan Lyon.

This marks the 12th time Bumrah has claimed a five-wicket haul in Test cricket.

By stumps on Day 2, Australia had reached 405/7 in 101 overs. Jasprit Bumrah stood out with his brilliant five-wicket haul. However, the rest of the Indian bowling attack failed to provide adequate support, allowing Australia to recover from a precarious 75/3 to now 405/7.

Australia seized control with a record-shattering 241-run partnership between in-form Travis Head and former captain Steve Smith. Head blazed his way to 152 off 160 balls, striking 18 boundaries, while Smith anchored the innings with a composed 101 off 190 deliveries, featuring 12 fours.

After a rain-affected opening day at the Gabba, the second day turned into a run-fest as the Australian batters took charge.
