The week end double header in the thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) on Sunday witnessed two teams being knocked out of the play-off race in the flagship T20 tournament being held in Abu Dhabi .
While Chennai Super Kings (CSK) knocked out Kings Eleven Punjab (KXIP) with a dominant nine wicket win, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) trounced Rajasthan Royals (RR) to dash the latter's hopes of a knockout berth in Season 13 of the IPL at UAE.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) secured their seventh win of the season on Sunday (Nov 1) and bolstered their chances of qualifying for the IPL 2020 play-offs. With 14 points in the bank, KKR are not completely assured of a berth as the result of the DC vs RCB and MI vs SRH will ascertain whether they will eventually make it to the play-offs.
If Sunrisers Hyderabad lose to Mumbai Indians in the last round robin encounter scheduled to be played on Nov 3, then Kolkata Knight Riders will be assured of a place along with MI, DC and RCB in the play-offs.
Already Qualified Mumbai Indians Look To End League Assignment On High With Win Over SRH
Defending champions Mumbai Indians will eye a win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in their last league fixture on November 3 and look to finish the league assignment as the number one ranked team.
Having already qualified for the play-offs, MI could add another 2 points to their kitty and end the round robin assignment with 20 points.

RCB And DC Vie For Second Play-Off Spot
Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals stand a great chance of finishing second behind defending champions Mumbai Indians at the end of the league fixtures.
With 14 points each in the kitty, a win for either side in the encounter scheduled later in the evening today will take them to 16 points and ensure a play-off qualification.
If any of DC or RCB end up with a massive loss in the game later in the evening, then both teams will hope that Mumbai Indians beats Sunrisers Hyderabad by a huge margin. If SRH beat MI, then the net run rate of RCB, DC, KKR and SRH will come into play to decide which three teams eventually make it to the play-offs.
Kings Eleven Punjab and Rajasthan Royals Eliminated From Play-Offs
Kings Eleven Punjab and Rajasthan Royals joined Chennai Super Kings in getting eliminated from the play-offs in Indian Premier League Season 13.
Kings Eleven Punjab (KXIP) who needed a win against CSK in their last fixture, succumbed to a nine-wicket defeat at the hands of Dhoni and Co. They eventually ended their campaign with 12 points courtesy six wins in the season.
Rajasthan Royals were also sent packing out of the tournament by Kolkata Knight Riders as Smith and Co. lost their final fixture by 60 runs.
Much like Punjab, RR also ended their campaign on 12 points with a 60-run loss to Kolkata Knight Riders in their last league game. However, the huge defeat to KKR meant that Smith's Pink Army finished bottom of the points table behind Kings Eleven Punjab and and Chennai Super Kings owing to the run rate.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) continued to play the party poopers for other play-off contenders as they thrashed Kings Eleven Punjab by nine wickets. Registering a hat-trick of wins at the fag end of the league stage, CSK ended their campaign on the seventh spot with six wins in total.
