The strong-willed Mumbai Indians returned with rock-solid batting, posing a good total of 200 against Delhi Capitals in the Qualifier 1 of the play-offs in season thirteen of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai on Thursday evening. The top placed Mumbai based Unit was the first team to secure a berth in the playoffs and now aim to become the fist team of the season to book itself for the Grand Finale.

When put to bat first, Quinton de Kock made a great start and slammed three boundaries in the first over itself. It won't be wrong to give a major bit of the credit to the South African cricketer for contributing solid 40 of 25 deliveries including 5 'Fours' and  1 'Six'. Besides Kock, Suryakumar Yadav was another player garnering fans  love with with his brilliant show this evening. The attacking right-handed batsman hit 6 'Fours' and 2 'Sixes' making 51 runs off 38 balls.

Speaking of other star players, from today's contest, Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard  fell early. After failing to perform in the last played match, the Captain Rohit Sharma 0(1) who recently recovered from the injury, retuned pavilion disappointed once again when he failed to sustain Ravichandran Ashwin's attack. Pollard too okayed two balls and made none tonight.

The toss winners Delhi Capitals who went unchanged this evening elected to bowl in the first half. Shreyas Iyer & Co had booked a spot in the knockouts by finishing second on the round robin stage of the tournament. The fielders appeared active in not missing catches but several bowlers leaked boundaries and maximums.

Among the lot, Ravichandran Ashwin powered the Brigade taking away three important wickets. He first removed Rohit Sharma in his first allotted over, then dismissed big fish Kock, followed by wicket of Pollard. But Daniel Sams, Axar Patel leaked heavy runs.

A win for either teams (DC or MI) will secure them a place in the finals of the marquee Indian T20 league. A loss won't hurt either as they will get a second chance to make it to the summit clash by taking on the winner of 'Eliminator 2' between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
