While MS Dhoni led CSK is at the bottom of the points table after three consecutive loses, KL Rahul led KXIP is slightly on a better edge over CSK with one fantastic victory against Royal Challengers Bengalore (RCB).
Team Dhoni has so far played four matches in the fresh season of the Indian Premier League. The unit in yellow started their campaign bright with a glorious victory in its opening match against the Mumbai Indian, but the team since then has been struggling to keep up with the pace. Their top order is struggling to give a strong start, forcing the middle and the lower order to make up for the entire loss.
KXIP on the other hand has been impressive with their young openers - KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal, however in total contract with the yellow men, KXIP has been unable to close out the matches in death overs.
Speaking of the duo facing each other in the IPL games so far, CSK has played 22 matches against Kings XI Punjab. Of these, CSK have emerged victorious for 13 times while the rest have been won by Team Punjab. Today is the D day for both the teams to break their long pending jinx this evening and come out strong with an added win in hands.
