The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are back on the winning ways after toiling throughout the first phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019. They will look forward to continuing the momentum when they host Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The RCB are placed at the bottom of the points table with 3 wins and six points. On the other hand, Punjab hold the fifth position with five wins. If Kohli’s red brigade take the game home tonight, they will rise up to the 7th spot. And if Punjab seal the deal, they will dethrone Sunrisers Hyderabad to grab the fifth spot.
Toss Update:
KXIP have won the toss and they will be bowling first. The visitors have made a couple of changes; Sam Curran sits out, Pooran comes in. Also, Ankit Rajpoot comes in for Harpreet Brar.
“We will bowl first. When we travel, we have to use the Indian seamers in the side. Virat said about enjoying the game, and we have to do the same. They are a star-studded side and it's important to knock them over,” said Ashwin at the toss.
The hosts have made as many changes in the dies. Dale Steyn has sustained some niggle, so he misses out and Tim Southee replaces him. Secondly, Pawan Negi sits out, Washington Sundar comes in.
“Last game also we lost the toss but we won. Looking for a solid performance tonight. No team wants to lose six games in a row. We aren't thinking of play-offs. We are thinking of playing fearless cricket. Proud of the spirit the guys are playing with,” said Kohli.
