The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced on Wednesday (November 18) that England will host India for five Tests in during the next English summer in 2021


Before their 5-match Test series assignment against India, England are set to have a jam packed scheduled with the national team scheduled to take on sub continent teams Sri Lanka and Pakistan in limited over series.

The ECB on Wednesday put out a provisional schedule for the white ball series against Sri Lanka and Pakistan as well as the 5-match Test series against India.

England Will Host Sri Lanka and Pakistan In Limited Over Series In June-July 2021

England will lock horns with Sri Lanka in 3-match ODI series from June 29 to July 4. Post the commencement of their ODI engagement with Sri Lanka, England will take on Pakistan in three ODIs between July 10-13 and three T20Is between July 16-20. Durham, Bristol, Edgbaston and Cardiff have been selected as the venues to host all limited-overs matches.

Post their white ball series against Sri Lanka and Pakistan, England will switch to the red ball format, taking on Virat Kohli-led team India in five Tests scheduled to be played from August 4 to September 14.

Here is the full schedule of the 5-match Test Series Between England and India scheduled to be played in 2021 

The series opener of the England vs India 5-Test series will be played out at Trent Bridge from Aug 4 to Aug 8. The iconic Lord's Cricket Ground will hold the second Test from August 12-16. The third Test will be played out at Headingly from August 25-29, the fourth at Kia Oval (September 2-6) and Old Trafford in Manchester will be the venue for the fifth and final Test (September 10-14).

1st Test - August 4-8 in Trent Bridge in Nottingham

2nd Test - August 12-16 in Lord's (London)

3rd Test - August 25-29 at Headingly in Leeds

4th Test - September 2-6 at Kia Oval at Kennington in London

5th Test - September 10-14 at Old Trafford in Manchester

Virat Kohli would like to make amends from their horrendous performance in their last series against England in the British Isles as they suffered a crushing 1-4 defeat in the five-Test series.

Before India take on England in their backyard in a 5-match Test series, England are scheduled to visit India for a Test series in February-March, 2021.

"Next year we've got another big international program to look forward to, with the thrill of a five-Test series against India as the centre-piece, compelling white ball series for our men and women, and an Ashes series for our visually impaired team," said ECB Chief Executive Officer Tom Harrison.

"It's an exciting prospect for England fans, and while Covid-19 means there's still a great deal of uncertainty, we really hope to be able to welcome fans back into the grounds safely next year to bring that unique atmosphere to stadia across the country," he added.
