IND vs AUS WTC Final: Current number-one ranked ICC Test bowler and India's leading wicket-taker in Tests, Ravichandran Ashwin, was somehow not included in India playing XI for India vs Australia World Test Championship (WTC 2023) Final, which Rohit Sharma & Co. lost by 209 runs to Australia on Sunday in London. Reacting to team India's WTC Final 2023 defeat, Ashwin took to Twitter to congratulate Australian cricket team and 'acknowledge' the efforts of his teammates who helped India make it to the WTC Final.
"Congratulations Australia on winning this #WTCFinal and closing out this cycle of test cricket. It is disappointing to end up on the wrong side of things, nevertheless it was a great effort over the last 2 years or so to get here in the first place," Ashwin tweeted.
"Amidst all the chaos and scathing assessments, i feel it’s very important to acknowledge all my team mates who played in this cycle and most importantly the coaching and support staffs who have held on like a rock of support," the off-spinner’s tweet added.
Notably, Ravichandran Ashwin has so far taken 18 wickets in 7 Tests in England. He has so far played 22 Tests against Australia, picking 114 wickets at an average of 28.36. Ashwin won Player of the series award in IND vs AUS Border-Gavaskar Trophy, after picking 25 wickets in this series.
