New Delhi: Amid the COVID-19 induced lockdown which has seen all major sporting activities come to a complete halt, cricketers are busy entertaining their loyal fan base by regularly coming on live chat shows over social media and throwing up some interesting tales, close secrets and personal favourites which their fans had been not privy to.


India's Under 19 team skipper Priyam Garg opened up on a wide range of topics both on and off the green turf while appearing on a live show on Helo App.

Life, schedule Amid COVID-19 Lockdown

Much like many of his counterparts, Garg has been spending time with his family over the past one month since the COVID-19 induced lockdown. Garg is taking special care of his fitness and is very regular with his training schedule following a strict regime. He combines excercise with a nap for an hour's time, meditates in the evening and also does Yoga thrice a week.

Priyam's Take On Indian Premier League 

Responding on a question on the Indian Premier League, the budding cricketer said that safety of the players takes utmost priority given the circumstances at present .. He added that there is not much he can do other than keeping himself fit and in proper shape. He added that there was no certainity about the holding of the IPL amid the COVID-19 pandemic, but did not rule out speculations that the tournament might be held in October-November later this year.

Which Bowler Would He Like To Face?

Responding to a question on which bowler he would like to face, Garg picked India's pace ace Jasprit Bumrah backing his response on the fact that he can improve upon his batting skills by facing a bowler of Bumrah's calibre. He said Bumrah puts immense pressure on batsmen and bowls some really good yorkers.

Memories From The 2020 Under 19 World Cup?

Priyam fondly remembered his highly succesful captaincy stint with the Indian Under-19 team at the 2020 U-19 World Cup and underlined the importance of each and every member in the squad. He showered praises on coach Rahul Dravid and spoke highly about his discipline, work ethics and attitude, traits noteworthy of emulating..

Like many cricketers of his generation watching Sachin Tendulkar, Priyam idolizes the 'Master Blaster' and hails him as his favourite cricketer. Although, he hasn't met Sachin yet. Apart from Sachin, Garg hailed Dhoni as his favourite cricketer and picked him over Indian skipper Virat Kohli.
