Indian captain Rohit Sharma decided to field first after winning the toss against Bangladesh in the first match of the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup at Dubai on Friday.

Ravindra Jadeja was drafted into the side Indian side in place of Hardik Pandya, who was ruled out of the Asia Cup after suffering an acute back injury during India's last group encounter against Pakistan. Jadeja last played an ODI for India back in July 2017 against West Indies.

"We have played a few games here and we understand the conditions here now. It gets better under the lights so it is better to chase. It is our strength and we will like to do that. Pitch is similar to what we play in India but it is a little drier. We are used to these conditions. We have played 2 games now and we understand the conditions much better," said Indian captain Rohit Sharma.

For Bangladesh, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mustafizur Rahman returned in place of Mominul Haque and Abu Hider.

"We would have batted on this wicket. It looks a good wicket to bat on. Hopefully, our batters will bat well. It is a very important match, we will play well," said Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza.
