With less than two months left for ICC Men's 2023 ODI World Cup in India, cricket pundits and former cricketers are back with their opinions and legend Yuvraj Singh is one among them. Hero of India's 2011 World Cup win and one of the finest spin all-rounders of all time, Yuvraj Singh, talked about India's chances of winning ODI World Cup 2023 this year under senior opener Rohit Sharma captaincy. Yuvraj asserted that "a captain is only as good as a team". The Indian team that lifted the World Cup trophy in 2011 featured senior players like Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj himself. All these players played in two World Cups before playing 2011 ODI World Cup under MS Dhoni's captaincy.

In an exclusive conversation with Indranil Basu, Yuvraj stated: "Rohit Sharma is a good captain, but you will have to give a good team to him. MS Dhoni was a good captain too, but he had a good team with experienced players."

Yuvraj believes Rohit has developed into a good leader.

"I think Rohit has become a very good leader because he has led Mumbai Indians in IPL for such a long time. And He is a very sensible guy under pressure. You need to give a good team to a sensible captain who is experienced as well. MS Dhoni was a good captain, but he also got a good team right?"

Barring Rishabh Pant, key India players Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer are slated to be back for ODI World Cup. The Indian cricket team haven't won an ICC trophy for the last 10 years and this time they have a great chance to script history, win the coveted title for the third time.
