The ODI series against the West Indies can possibly be a very special one for Indian captain Virat Kohli. The skipper will have the chance to break the two great records of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar in this series.

The series will also mark captain Virat Kohli's return to white-ball cricket as he had taken a much needed break during the team's triumphant campaign in Asia Cup.

Fastest batsman to score 10,000 runs

Virat Kohli can complete his ten thousand runs in the ODI series against the Windies. Kohli has scored 9779 runs in 211 innings so far in ODIs. He needs just 221 runs to complete his ten thousand runs.

If the right-handed batsman completes his ten thousand runs in this series, he will become the fastest batsman to do so in the 50-overs format of the game. Currently, this record is named after veteran Sachin Tendulkar who completed his ten thousand runs in 259 innings.

Most runs in ODIs against the West Indies

In addition to completing ten thousand in one-day cricket, Virat Kohli can break Sachin’s record of scoring most runs against the West Indies. Currently, Sachin is placed at the top of this list.

While Sachin has scored 1573 runs against the West Indies, Kohli has scored 1387 runs. To break Sachin's record, Virat needs to score just 186 runs.
