The 'Men in Blue' will look to continue their winning streak against Windies after beating them 2-1 in the recently concluded T20I series. India will also ride high on confidence going in the series as they beat the Windies in their backyard 2-0 when the two sides squared off in a bilateral ODI series in the Caribbean.
Meanwhile Afghanistan would also come into the series on a high after clean sweeping Afghanistan (3-0) in the bilateral series played in Lucknow. With the last ODI assignment for the year, both the teams would look for a series win to end the year on a high.
Toss Report
West Indies skipper Kieron Pollard won the toss and invited India to bat first on a dry MA Chidambaram Stadium deck on a bright sunny afternoon at Chennai.
Virat Kohli: It looks like a dry track and we would have wanted to bat first. In 50 overs, strike rotation is important and that's where our bowling attack becomes lethal. "The guys who are not playing are Manish Pandey, Mayank Agarwal, Yuzvendra Chahal and Shardul Thakur," Kohli added.
Kieron Pollard: We will field first. This pitch is bit of an unknown so we will see how it behaves. We are looking forward to this challenge. We have done a lot of talking how we want to play international cricket. We want to be competitive.
