IND vs SA Tests: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has requested to be released from Test squad for India's two-match Test series against South Africa. The Indian cricket board released him from the squad and also announced his replacement with KS Bharat getting a place in the side in pace of Kishan.
As far as India's ongoing tour of South Africa is concerned, India were slated to play a three-format series on this tour. While the three-match T20I series ended in a 1-1 draw after the series opener was abandoned without a ball being bowled, the ODI series got underway at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on December 17 (Sunday).
Following the conclusion of the ODI series, India are two play two Test matches with the first Test beginning at the SuperSport Park in Centurion on December 26 and the New Year's Test match beginning in Newlands, Cape Town on January 3.

India named three different captains for the three series with Suryakumar Yadav leading the team in the T20I series, KL Rahul named the skipper in ODIs and Rohit Sharma back at the helm of affairs for the Test matches. While it was Hardik Pandya who has been leading India in their T20I assignments with the all-rounder nursing an injury and Rohit opting for a break, India went in with Suryakumar as their capatain in the shortest format.
