Virat Kohli-led India will be taking on South Africa in the first of the 3-Match T20 international series at the scenic HPCA Cricket Stadium at Dharamsala later in the Day.

The 'Men in Blue' go in as the overwhelming favourites to win the series against the South Africans who are going through a major rebuilding phase after the retirement of couple of their stalwarts. While India will be helmed by seasoned captain Virat Kohli, South Africa would be led by Quinton De Cock, who replaces Faf Du Plessis who has been rested.

India do enjoy the edge over their African counterparts in the shortest format of the game, winning 8 off the 13 encounters played between the two teams. However, the South Africans have had the better of their much fancied Indian opponents in the games played on Indian soil. The Proteas hold a 2-0 winning record against the Indians on their home turf.

If one were to look at the recent encounters between the two sides, the Indians came out victorious, pulling off a 2-1 win over the Proteas in the 3-match series held in  South Africa in 2018.
