IND vs NZ Test, Day 2 Revised Timings: With Day 1 of the first India vs New Zealand Test in Bengaluru getting to see no play, here's what the revised timings for Day 2 look like.

IND vs NZ Test, Day 2 Revised Timings: The 1st India vs New Zealand Test at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru got off to an unfortunate start as there was no play observed throughout Day 1 on October 16 (Wednesday) of the Test due to non-stop rain interruptions. Bengaluru rains did not even allow for there to be a toss and the entire day’s play was eventually called off around 2:30 PM IST. No play on Day 1 has resulted in the timings being revised for Day 2 of the IND vs NZ Test.

To compensate for the overs lost on Day 1, officials adjusted the timings for Day 2, scheduling a 15-minute early start for the match, with the toss set to take place at 8:45 AM IST, pending there are no more rain interruptions.

 Revised Timings For Day 2 Of IND vs NZ 1st Test, Bengaluru

Toss: 8:45 AM IST

Morning session: 9:15 -11:30 AM IST

Afternoon session: 12:10 - 14:25 PM IST

Evening session: 14:45 - 16:45 PM IST

These timings apply only if there are no more rain interruptions on Day 2.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to it's official social media handle to announce the revised toss and session timings after the Day 1 was called off due to rain.

Why India Need A Win In The Bengaluru Test

India, who are leading the World Test Championship 2023-25 standings with eight wins in 11 meetings, would be eager to make the most of the ongoing IND vs NZ three-match Test series. The Men in Blue need three wins in their remaining eighth matches in the WTC cycle to confirm their place in the final. After the three Tests against New Zealand at home, India will fly Down Under for five Tests against Australia, who are positioned second in the WTC points table. If they manage a 3-0 clean sweep over New Zealand, any result in Australia later in this year will not put their place in the WTC final in jeopardy.

However, if the IND vs NZ Bengaluru Tests results in a draw, India will need to beat NZ in the remaining two Tests of this series and then will have to win one in Australia, which would be a tougher job to do given the foreign conditions.
