India's in-form front-line batsman KL Rahul who has struck a purple patch with the willow registered a unique record of sorts in India's second T2OI win against Kiwis on Sunday.
Rahul who registered yet another half ton (57) with the willow in the second T2OI at Auckland following his half ton (56) in the series opener, become the 1st player in T20I history to score fifties in his 1st 2 matches as wicketkeeper-batsman.
Rahul donned the keeping gloves for the first time in T2OIs after showcasing his wicket-keeping skills in the recently held ODI series at home against Australia earlier this month.
Rahul's stellar form in T20I cricket has played a key role in India's winning run in T20I cricket in the recent past. The India batsman has scored 4 fifties in the last 5 innings with scores of 91, 45, 54, 56, 57 not out.
On Sunday, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer powered India's 133-run chase on a used pitch at Eden Park. KL Rahul once again top scored with 57 runs.
