IND VS ENG 3rd Test: India are in a very strong position, thanks to a terrific century from Yashasvi Jaiswal, as India sit at 196/2 at Stumps on Day 3. The Rohit Sharma-led side is leading the visitors by 322 runs and there is a good amount of chance that we might we Indian side declare around the lead of 475, as England will find it relatively tough to even amass 450+ within the last 4 sessions at least of the 3rd Test match at Rajkot.

However, the major talking point of the Day 3 came in when left-handed young sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal felt a pain in his lower back and had to retire hurt on an individual score of 104 off 133 balls. Seeing the crunchness of the situation, Indian side didn't rush in for a nightwatchman replacement on the 22 yards, and rather went with the pre-set batting order, by sending in Rajat Patidar to compliment a settled Shubman Gill on the pitch, keeping in the mind the recent troubles of the 'Prince'.

The plan backfired as Rajat Patidar gave away another soft dismisaal this series as he departed without troubling the scorers in 10 balls faced. The right-handed batsman was removed by Tom Hartley via a catch at mid wicket region by Rehan Ahmed.

Will Yashasvi Jaiswal Come In To Bat On Day 4?

The major question lies upon the fact whether Jaiswal can come in to bat or not, given, if the player is fit and feels fine enough to bat. The answer to that is a YES, as the player hasn't officially been retired out, and rather retired hurt, and this complies that the centurion can presume from his 104 score if and when, he comes to bat in.

However, with enough firepower in the arsenal, and Ashwin making himself available again, the Indian side won't be rushing in Jaiswal to bat as his antics have helped India give a cushion of comfort against The Three Lions and can be rested, given, keeping in mind the hectic schedule ahead, which included two more tests, a two-month long IPL and T20 World Cup 2024.
