The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced India squad for IND vs BAN 2nd Test in Kanpur, shortly after India's mammoth victory in IND vs BAN Chennai Test.
Team India's 16-member squad retains the same players from the series opener. However, reports suggest that Sarfaraz Khan, who is part of the squad for IND-BAN Tests, may be released before IND vs BAN Kanpur Test.

IND vs BAN 2nd Test in Kanpur is scheduled to start on September 27. If Sarfaraz isn't selected for the playing XI, Mumbai Cricket Association may seek permission for their star batter to participate in Irani Cup.
Ajinkya Rahane-led Mumbai, the Ranji Trophy champions, will take on Rest of India in Lucknow in their upcoming Irani Cup game.
"Look, Sarfaraz is the only specialist middle-order batter in the squad. Dhruv Jurel is a keeper-batsman and Axar Patel is an all-rounder. What if there is a need for a concussion substitute? But yes, the Irani Cup starts on October 1 and travelling from Kanpur to Lucknow even on September 30 won't be a big deal if the Test match ends early," a BCCI source told PTI.
India's T20 captain, Suryakumar Yadav, and all-rounder Shivam Dube won't participate in Irani Cup, as they need to report to Gwalior on October 3 for IND vs BAN T20I series starting on October 6.
Top stars Musheer Khan, Shreyas Iyer, Tanush Kotian and Shams Mulani are supposed to play Mumbai vs Rest of India Irani Cup match.
