New Delhi: The Men in Blue outplayed the Bangla Tigers by 227 runs in the third and final ODI

  at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Saturday. However, Bangladesh won the series by 2-1.  While chasing down a huge total of 410 runs, Bangladesh were restricted to just 182 in 34 overs. Shardul Thakur scalped three wickets for India while Axar Patel and Umran Malik took two wickets each.


Earlier, India batted first and Ishan Kishan was asked to play in place of the injured Rohit Sharma and he smashed 210 off 131 balls with the help of 24 fours and 10 maximums. It was the fastest double century in ODI cricket here at Chattogram. Kishan alongside Kohli forged 290 runs stand and helped India put up 409 for 8 in 50 overs. Washington Sundar also contributed with 37 runs coming late down the order.


Virat Kohli got the century after three years long drought. The last time he scored a century in ODI was back in 2019  against West Indies. The former India skipper also reached his 72nd international century and crossed Australian legend Ricky Ponting, who has  71 centuries in his kitty.
