ICC Cricket World Cup Final: In the run-up to the big-ticket semi-final clash between India and Australia in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad on Sunday, the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in the state is gearing up to manage the surge in traffic arriving in the state and accommodate people. Indian Railways will also be running special trains for people who are looking to reach Ahmedabad for the match. Indian railways have planned to run a special train from Delhi to Gujarat's Ahmedabad today. Again, after the match, the train will depart from Ahmedabad at 2:30 a.m. for Delhi. Similar three trains are being run between Mumbai and Ahmedabad.






"Western Railway has decided to run special trains from Mumbai to Ahmedabad for cricket lovers who want to travel to Ahmedabad to watch the World Cup final," said Jitendra Kumar Jayant, Senior PRO, Ahmedabad Division, Indian Railways, as quoted by PTI. 









SVPI Airport, in its latest advisory, laid emphasis on ensuring the safety and security of the passengers'. The airport authorities also requested that people allocate additional time for travel-related formalities and mandatory security protocols and keep a check on their flight schedule.  


“Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport is expecting heavy passenger traffic for the upcoming Cricket World Cup final match. Keeping this in mind, we are requesting all our passengers, travelling through SVPI Airport, to allocate additional time for travel-related formalities and mandatory security protocols. Passengers are also advised to check their flight schedules with their respective airlines due to airspace closure for air display by the Indian Air Force on 17th and 19th November from 13:25 to 14:10 hours. Ensuring our passengers' safety, security and comfort is our topmost priority at all times,” the airport said in its advisory. 






Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles are set to attend the final match on Sunday, news agency PTI reported, citing officials.


An official release said Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel held a high-level meeting in Gandhinagar on Friday to oversee security and other arrangements for the match, which will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles will attend the match on Sunday. Chief Minister Patel reviewed security and other arrangements with top officials," the release said, as quoted by PTI.


The Indian Air Force's (IAF) Suryakiran aerobatic team will be carrying out a flypast over the venue ahead of the title clash, which will take place on November 19.






On passengers leaving for Ahmedabad for ICC Men's Cricket World Cup finals, Central Railways Chief Public Relations Officer Shivraj Manaspure says, "We will release two trains from CSMT today, the first train will leave at 10:30 pm which will reach Ahmedabad in the morning at 6:40 am...This train will have 17 LHB coaches...At night around 12:20 am we will release another train from CSMT this will reach Ahmedabad at 9 am in the morning tomorrow...Bookings for both the trains are open..."






Metro To Operate Till 1 AM, Say Ahmedabad Police 


The Ahmedabad Police have said that metro will be operating till 1 AM on Sunday in view of the World Cup Final match. The police made an appeal to the people to use Metro because traffic is also a challenge. Gyanendra Singh Malik, Police Commissioner of Ahmedabad said, "Indian PM (Narendra Modi) will come to watch the Cricket World Cup Final between India and Australia (tomorrow)..."
