A day before the 2nd India vs Australia Test match in Perth, WACA head pitch curator Brett Sipthorpe unveiled a green top uttering that he and his team have been asked to produce the bounciest wicket they can. It’s a fact that such tracks have given nightmares to the Indians in the past but skipper Virat Kohli cleared that they were ‘more excited than being worried’ about the track.

However, Australian spin legend Shane Warne has some other thoughts.

On Friday, the visitors began the game by losing the toss and were put to bowl first. While India became the first international team to bowl on this track, Warne apologised to the Indian fans for tweeting not in favour of Virat Kohli & Co.

The former Aussie predicted that it’s going to be a tough outing for India on Perth’s green track. He also predicted that Mitchell Starc will take a 10-wicket haul and Aaron Finch will smash a ton.

Here’s the tweet:

On the other hand, despite a lot being talked about the pitch, the Indian pacer couldn’t get any benefit out of it. Australian openers Aaron Finch and Marcus Harris went off the mark smoothly, bringing up a 50-run partnership in 15 overs.

Earlier today, Australia elected to bat first after winning the toss. India roped in Hanuma Vihari and Umesh Yadav in the playing XI to replace injured Rohit Sharma and R Ashwin respectively.
