It was a moderate opening game for the West Indies in Vadodara as the squad managed to take six wickets on the first day of their two-day warm-up match against Indian Board President's XI. Taking on the West Indian bowlers, Ankit Bawane, batting at No. 6, scored a pleasing unbeaten 116 in 191 balls, hitting them across the boundary for 15 fours.


Apart from Bawane, the batting duo of Mayank Agarwal and Shreyas Iyer took the innings forward in the afternoon, helping the squad to put on board a total of 360 for six at four runs per over.


While Agarwal after a 111-ball innings got dismissed just short of making his hundered; Iyer managed to play a brisk 64-ball 61, together with Bawane for a 113-run fifth wicket stand.


Among the bowling department of the visitors, Devendra Bishoo emerged to be the most successful. The Leg-spineer managed to take three wickets in form of half-centurions Mayank Agarwal (90) and Shreyas Iyer (61). Leading the bowling attack from the front, right-arm pacer Shannon Gabriel had opener Prithvi Shaw caught-behind in the third over, after which Lewis sent Vihari back in the 13th.


Likes of Avesh Khan, Basil Thampi, Jalaj S Saxena and Ishan Porel will be seen tested by the Indian bowling squad on the second and final day of the only tour match.
